355f: No difference beetween BV4 and commercial panasonic. I will post all the pictures with the backs removed if you desire. Please feel free to point out any difference! And, as if any further evidence were needed to prove your point, when a commercial Panny plasma is connected to a BS3, the latter identifies the screen as a specific model of BV4

As of this afternoon, I was informed by the B&O software developer, who is currently in the US, that the NA version of 4.24 will be available for download "within the next few days."

I've had a BS3 since last fall and have a grand total of three ATSC tuners being used in the system: the built-in unit, which is clearly just an add-on board or chip for the NA market to meet FCC requirements, a Samsung 361, which I had left over from my previous BS1 system, and an LG 3410A, which is a HDD recorder with a single ATSC tuner. I get the

Peter : I can see no posts that have been deleted today. We do delete posts - usually duplicate ones. The site filter also will hold up some posts due to inappropriate language, though that is automatic. Very rarely is a post deleted for other reasons - advertising, defaming another person or a post that could cause offense are about all that I can

soundproof: The latest update of the AppleTV has introduced something they call 1080iHD, check that option and you have the perfect resolution for your BV8. Actually, the 1080i resolution has been available since several previous updates, at least since 2.0. However, as stated above, I find that the 720p resolution gives a far better and cleaner picture

Nope, PMUTE definitely does not put the screen into standby, nice as that would be. My Panny 65" 9UK plasma has a diode pilot light on the frame which turns red when in standby; it remains green when PMUTE is activated. There is no relay click, either. The screen is connected to the PS3 through its RS232C port, and it does get turned on and off by the

I would just like to add to my comments above from five weeks ago that I have just also acquired a BV8-32, so I now have some first hand experience with this model as well as with the BV7 and BS3. My experience in trying to find the optimum resolution for each of my various outboard devices has been interesting, to say the least. I have an Apple TV

Thanks for the suggestion, but in the situation described, using the PMUTE function doesn't accomplish anything. Its purpose is to disable the video signal to the screen, but because there is no video source connected to the PS3, there is no signal to the screen anyway. However, the screen is still on and drawing current, albeit not as much as if there

Yes, this will work just fine. I had a HD digital audio FM receiver connected via SPDIF to AV5 for a while. Of course, it had to be registered as a video source; the plasma screen was therefore turned on when AV5 was selected as the input, even though there was no video signal present. It got to be a nuisance having to turn the plasma off and on manually

Yes, you are quite right; a friend using SW 3.3 confirmed the same behaviour, so I clearly just didn't notice it before the 4.12 upgrade -- I had had the BV7 in house only a few days before it was upgraded. However, I have since found a useful work-around: it is possible to recall the digital channel display by pressing the DTV button on Beo4. This
