  • Re: How to activate MOTS

    I think I read somewhere the MOTS analysis takes a few minutes per song. 235 * 10 songs/album * 5 min/song = ~ a week (give or take a couple days) ... Also, MOTS doesn't work for songs > ~20 minutes. I don't know what "MOTS suspended" means... Stan

  • Re: Which IR puck

The Beoport IR puck does not have the "timer" and "play" buttons labeled so this will not work with Beoport. I also took a look at the layout on the board and your picture is very different than my Beoport puck. Then again, it also looks different than my Beolink Active pucks so I'm a bit confused... must be an older design or

  • Re: Beolab 8000 + 2 vs Beolab 1

I have had BL8000 + BL2 for many years (bought the BL8000 around ~2000/2001, and the BL2 shortly after it was introduced). Adding a BL2 to a BL8000, in my experience, offers a tremendous improvement, but there is still something missing (to my ears). Therefore, I bought a pair of BL1s a few months ago (BL9s too expensive and wife didn't like them

  • Re: Quick Beosound 1 Question..

The front grill is aluminum, and it does come off. Therefore, it would not be difficult to push the dents out from the inside. However, the final results really depend on how bad the dents are, if there are scratches that go along with the dents and how good you are with metal working. You might also consider finding a replacement grill - these come

  • Re: Beosound 5 Encore is here...

For every measure there is a counter-measure. Use long random passwords, and now you have to store them somewhere. Now your password storage "vault" becomes target - use a popular one, and that makes it more likely that the bad guys will develop a crack. Use an unpopular one, and maybe it's not as strong as advertised - after all, why

  • Re: Beosound 5 Encore is here...

Yes, "seeing" is not the same as being able to use. "Seeing" just means that my network card can receive the network name (SSID) that their network is broadcasting. Even if they were not secure (they are), their signal strength is too low to use anyway. Stan

[quote user="SWISS_2"] The surprise is that in September, 2011, the much heralded Encore was not working. The Cisco requirement and deflection to that company for a Cisco router (Which one ?) will not prevent a motivated customer (such as myself) from parting with 3000 CHF for an Encore. The error here is to brush off the customer to Cisco

  • Re: Beosound 1 and Airport Express

To answer your question (sort of), I personally believe that the BS1 offers a enough audio fidelity to benefit from a higher quality DAC than found in the AE. On the other hand, we all hear differently so why don't you try the BS1/AE without the DAC, and then add a DAC if you're not happy with the sound. Keep in mind, however, if you're

  • Re: BV8-40 - pros and cons?

Since you two seem to be talking past each other now, maybe I'll add my two cents to this (since I started this thread )... Puncher seems to think that because "visionclear" is now "just algorithms", there's no guarantee that it's any better than any other TV. Trip is up to his old tricks... wrapping some good bits of

  • Re: Beolab 4000 vs Beolab 3 vs beolab 8000

I guess I will echo the advice to buy used, although I am somewhat conflicted in doing so. First off, I've only bought 2 new sets of B&O speakers - BL8000s about 10 yr ago, and a BL2 a year or so later. Since then, the speakers I've bought have been dealer demos (mostly) and used (once). I've also bought plenty of new stuff - got to
