PhilLondon: Having just read the Beosound 5 user guide I am a bit baffled that there are only 4 playlists that you can configure on the BS5!!! You can only add songs to the 4 colour buttons. That's in my opinion because the BEO4 has to control the BS5. This is exactly the same for the BS3200. Keep things simple...

Luigi: Since I have very problems with Mac-Beoport I use Airport Express (connected to A.Aux (BC2)). Then I press A.Aux and it just works perfect. My iPod Touch control the rest... Why do you connect the sound-out of airport express to beoport? The mac-beoport needs two wires: usb and minijack.Another question: Does the BM-Link sound menu work for you

Can it be locked! I have only one location, and that's on the Beovision 3 cabinet. So our children can reach it very easily. The doors of the BS3200 (and similar systems) can be locked by pressing a remote controle number sequence.

Check your headphone jacks. Once the left speaker didn't function at all when I inserted the headphone jack in the Airport Express. With some fiddling the left speaker suddenly came back to life... Some thing to try out. Good luck...

In our setup the BL7.1 is on when watching TV The Beolab 4000 in each corner 1 speaker is on (+ BL2) when radio or similar audio is on. When we watch DVD I have to set the speaker setup manually to 5 speakers.
