A reasonable request! On the removing the wood surround, you don need to remove the control panel but after that it is just a case of removing the screws that hold the panel in the sliding position. There are plastic parts below the screws which are rather fragile but take your time and they can be re-used.

I would definitely sell these on eBay - you should list the components separately though on the whole, I would put the Beomaster and remote together unless you have a very silly offer for the remote. You can control the Beolit 12 with a B&O remote. That is what the IR receiver is for.The Beo4 and Beo6 will both work and I dare say the Beolink 1000 et al will as well.
