  • Re: BeoGram 1203 problem. edited post, new problems ;)

scott, i dont know much about your turntable but suggest the following.. 1. is there a service manual for this turntable available in the User and Service manuals section of this site? if so, then im sure you will find the mute switch in the service manual. 2. if there is no manual, i would suggest looking inside the turntable, follow the mechanics

lubrication somewhere inside the cassette deck mechanism. i would suggest getting the service manual and pulling out the mechanism and giving everything a good clean. i used circuit board cleaner/contact cleaner to remove the old grease which had dried and gone quite hard and then relubricated with a new grease... fixed all my problems. I didnt restore them... im good with mechanics but not that kind of stuff. I took them to my local powder coater's. For $40 AUD which is about 18 euros they sandblasted them and powder coated them. 4 days later I got them back as they are now, i changed the colour to a slightly glossier and reflective silver. By having them properly powder coated

I'm listening to Tracey Chapman's crossroads albumn on vinyl using the Beocenter 5000 and the S55's right now. Loudness on, bass at 0 and treble at 1 and it couldnt sound much better. The nude eliptical stylus MMC20EN does a fantasitc job. The bass was a bit boomy but over the last 6 hrs of playback its started to mellow and gain depth.

Martin/Dillen has a heap of speaker drivers for sale in the For Sale thread, check it out and see if there are any drivers which match your requirements. Andy

The frets just after being cleaned, came up really well.. they looked horrid and discoloured - i washed them in warm water with some shampoo, i used an old cloth to wipe over the cloth on the frets and remove all the dirt before rinsing them under warm water and allowing them to dry.

  • Beovox S55 restoration

Hi everyone, just a few pics of my recently restored Beovox S55's. I got these off ebay a few weeks ago with a Beocenter 5000, the bass surrounds were rotted, tweeters needed new pigtails, the caps in the crossover were on their way out, one cabinet had a large chunk of vaneer on the top right-hand corner missing, half the plugs on the frets were

  • Re: Beocenter 7002

Liz there are several variations on the 5 pin din lead, usually they will have a male 5 pin din plug on one end which plugs into the AUX input on the front of the unit (next to the mic input). On the other end will either be 2 or 4 RCA sockets OR a headphone socket if you buy a specialty lead. The DIN connection on your 7002 can take sound both in and
