It has a two way receiver.

Yes, I know the Master control panel has limited functionality. It says Beolink on the back of the beomaster. Maybe I am gonna try another MCL 2 AV to see if it has something to do with that. There are no other repliers with good ideas, unfortunately
-
Already had it of the mains for a night. I suspect that some commands are misinterpreted. When I press cd in the link room on the master control panel it starts. When I press status or sound on the terminal 1000, the volume is drops and then I can put the volume up again.
-
I thought it was solved. Now I am able to change the startup-volume of the MCL 2 AV. When I advance in volume at a certain level my beomaster would be advancing in volume too. But the strange thing is that first the volume drops a lot, as if the MCL 2 AV drops its amplification completely and then it is possible to make it louder via the beomaster.

The problem is solved! volume > sound > store > store So 2 times the store button!

Yes, that must be the 12 dB difference. When I link the music to the linkroom when the masterroom is already playing. The volume is good. When I let the MCL 2 AV activate then it gets loud. Is there a way to make the MCL 2 AV on a lower startup volume? It seems like the MCL 2 AV starts fully amplified.
-
If the MCL 2/AV can change the volume and the MCL 2P can change its volume as wel, that is maybe where the trouble is. Could there be a communication problem due to the powerlink cable?
-
Yes, that's the way it is connected. I just found out that when I turn on the system in the link and I press the volume up button two times it gets louder and after that is on a soft level again.

Thanks for the help The main room consists of a Beomaster 5500 and a Beogram CD 5500. The link room has a MCL 2 AV connected to an MCL 2P. No other components are attached. The Option settings are 1.5 on the beomaster and 2.6 on the MCL 2 AV

No I don't have manuals. The volume on the beomaster is 20, so the sound in the main room is good. When I turn on the linkroom, the volume is very high. When I press sound it almost mutes. The manuals available on the website don't give a solution.
