  • Re: Missing basic elements that narrow the window of BS5's appeal

Well, there doesn't seem to be a genre menu as such. I would assume that B&Os reason for not introducing genres is the fact that the system has MOTS (More Of The Same) meaning that when you pick a track, the BS5 will subsequently continue to play tracks similar to the chosen one (i.e. within the same genre). So you could say that BM5 automatically

  • Re: 400 Preorders in DK

I agree - I like it more and more as I get to play with it at the dealer. 400 preorders - is that more or less than antecipated? Is it selling well in other markets - any dealers out there who could let us know how customers have received the BS5 so far?

Yep, agreed! In the brochure, there's a very cool looking black column stand that could be placed next to the couch and the potato lying on it

Brilliant news, thanks - my dealer didn't even know that! By the way, do you have a link to the manual, I would love to read it?

  • Re: Missing basic elements that narrow the window of BS5's appeal

I've played aroundwith the BS5 at the dealer and discovered a few "child deceases" which should be fixed: (1) If you choose a particular track on a CD (e.g. number 5), BS5 will play that track and then go into MOTS mode playing similar tracks also on other CDs. However, this means that you cannot choose any given track and then have the

I agree a two-way remote is absolute needed for those of us who are too lazy to get out of the couch to control the BS5. However, there may be some consolation in the fact that, presumably, the BM5 can be controlled via an on-screen menu on your TV screen (like Beomedia 1) with a Beo5 remote control? Has anybody seen the user interface on the TV screen

  • Re: Free music for at monthly fee on BS5

B&O are very conscious of sound quality so I doubt very much that they would offer a download service any time soon as, currently, all download services (except MusicGiants, only available in the US) only offer downloads in compressed quality (even iTunes socalled LossLess is quite compressed and therefore not true lossless). However, I have sent

  • Re: All things Beosound 5

I should probably elaborate why it is extremely important to me that Beosound 5 allows importing playlists (not just tracks) from a PC and, in consequence, why I do not want to have to do it manually on the Beosound 5 (and no, MOTS will not render playlists obsolete - I want to be able to decide myself what to listen to....); Most of us presumably use

  • Re: All things Beosound 5

I have not decided whether to buy yet; Design is great, a real stunner. I also assume the sound quality to be great, true uncompromised HIFI (if not, then it's obviously a deal-breaker). I do not agree with the complaints about the lack of radio and CD; After all, you get thousands of internet radio stations and CDs will be faded out soon anyway

  • Beosound 5 specs

Wow, it looks very cool in pictures! The price is over the top though, even for B&O! Anyway, I have some questions that somebody in the know will hopefully be able to answer: 1) Are the specs (connections etc., etc.) sufficient to ensure FULL HIFI quality (if ripped in CD quality) - i.e. is it "worthy" to be connected to Beolab 5 speakers
