  • Re: help me in choosing the right B&O music system

The speakers in the main room will plug into the audio system itself. The BS4 etc has a ML connection to go to the other rooms and Powerlink sockets for the speakers in the main room.

If you need a new cartridge, get a Soundsmith SMMC4. Quite expensive but the best value of the range. the more expensive ones would probably be wasted and are very pricey! I usually recommend a Gram Slee pre-amp - again get the cheapest one which will be better than most on the market. If the deck is working, apart from a clean, I would leave well alone

You need two Beolink Active boxes, ML cable to connect the system to the two boxes and Powerlink cables from the Beolink Actives to the speakers. I would suggest you need a remote in each room - though if you are looking to save a little, Beolink 1000s could be used in two of them. I would go and listen to the speakers yourself. They are very personal

  • Re: n.music issue

Bizarre! The very first thing to do is a hard reset. Switch everything off at the mains and then reconnect. I would then, if the problem persists, look at your option setting - check the Beolink PC2 is in Option 6 - it may have defaulted to Option 2 when it was moved. Then report back!

  • Re: Help and advice on possible Beo5 purchase

The 'box' is a board integrated into the Avant. Maplins is out I am afraid! Why do you want a Beo5? I would suggest that I would get the STB-C fitted but use a Beo4. I think you would find that this offers plenty. Also not sure about the advice you have been given. I think you need a STB-C to control the V box and a DVD controller to work the

  • Re: Everything is different now ...

I agree that we already had this system - I was using it. However the Apple system is quicker and neater and allows me to listen to music throughout the house, choosing from my entire library. I can, if I want, listen to music at the highest quality and not have the mindless search through playlists or even CD racks that I needed to do before. I have

  • Re: Great gift but need HELP!!!

Not seen a used Beosystem 3 but thousands of dollars! All your speakers are active. They will however be fine with the output from a pre-amp. The power cables are just standard figure of 8 connectors - don't go crazy getting expensive ones! Your plan sound fine though obviosly you will compromise the remote a lttle. Use the Aux out to connect to

  • Re: Beogram CD X 1986 vintage: diagnostic questions

Sounds like this CDX was advertised as having been serviced. Interesting to see if it has new capacitors! There is actually a factory authorised fix for this machine involving the solder joints between boards. By the way, it was actually made in Belgium at the Philips factory and is a reboxed Philips CD104 - which was the best machine of its time.

  • Re: Beomaster 6500

My daughter did the same with one of my MCP5500s. The parts are no longer available - might be worth asking Tim Jarman - contact him via Beocentral. I know he fixed one of his recently but he may have used a donor model.

I like the CDX but it is a 14 bit machine. Not sure I would call it audiophile! I do use one myself though! Agree about contacting the seller.
