I would concentrate on getting the deck working first - it will work with any amplifier with a dedicated Phono input. The outputs are of no consequence at the moment. I think you have a rotten cartridge - where do you live?

The suspension can harden and the stylus can be badly worn. When you look at it, is the needle completely central?

Is it set to PAL I if in the UK?

No! At present I would expect dealers to be chasing every possible sale!

The video terminal was designed for use with TVs. Is it this one ? If so, you can't select an audio source which is why it won't work.

It sounds as if the tracking weight is wrong. Have you got the instruction manual for setting the weight? The other problem might be the cartridge - a very worn cartridge could produce the same symptoms.

That should work! The 6500 needs to be in Stand By. If it doesn't work, does it work with any other remote?

There are screws down the holes that the grille front clips fit in. I think they are philips screws. Once you release these, the whole front comes off though do it gently as the wires are attached to the back of the speaker! The driver is held in with brackets which are easily released.

When you decide that you want to go ahead, it might be worth becoming a gold or silver member as you can download the Product Configuration Guide - a natty little program that will produce instructions on how to set the system up and which options and extras you will need. The dealers use this and may give you a copy of the print out for your set up
