I use a 1000 with my beomaster 7000. Works wonderful. I do have a beo4 which I never use and is in my drawer for the past 2 years. I find a BL7000 works like a dream with this system (Though I no longer own one) but certainly not a necessity as most functions are easily handled with the 1000 IMHO.

Interesting to see how great B&O can look in custom colours. I use 5 cx100 for surround sound. I did polish 2 in a glossy chrome finish (like beosound 9300/9500) The other ones are in fair condition though black not really being my favourite colour. I have powdercoated and spraypainted plenty of these so far. so for a change I was thinking of selling

My first time that I saw a B&O system was sometime mid 70ies at a friends place. His (older) brother had a great setup with S80 speakers a begram4000 (I think) and an older beomaster 5000 amp and tuner. We enjoyed playing his system while he was out Fast forward to mid-eighties. I used to walk by a dealers store every day on my way to University

I think B&O should hire some good AV software engineers right now. And this at any cost as it is just becoming too important. Everything electronic is now basically software based with with multiple processors instead of a just a lot of (limiting) carefully selected electronic parts put together. Software issues are a problem for all electronics

[quote user="TripEnglish"] Moxxey, that's really the point that I was making. For all the pared down simplicity of much of the range, the BeoSystem 3 took the kitchen sink approach and has nearly a dozen features on board that 2/3s or better will never use, yet pay for each and every time. I've been arguing since the BeoSystem 3 was

Very interesting thread. I fully agree with your post Peter. I have owned B&O before, switched to other brands in the late 90ies and ended up switching back to B&O. Though the setup I own now is certainly not the newest items (90ies beosystem 7000), it is the one that gives me most joy in use. The 2-way beolink 5000 and 7000 remotes are still
