• Re: BeoLab 8000s HELP!

I pretty much agree with that other thread - I can't think of much else to try outside the speakers any more. I've never heard of the EQ board coming loose problem, but that wouldn't be a first If you decide to open them yourself, be careful. I didn't need a knife with mine, but the amp module sits quite tightly in the gasket material

OK, that makes more sense - we can now guess further Seems like the signal sense circuitry is working, as they stay in standby in Powerlink mode with nothing connected, and turn on with a cable connected (due to stray interference I suppose). It could be that the signal path from the RCA connector is broken either at the connector or the selector switch

  • Re: STB-C IR adapter

The IR transmitters are quite low powered. If you just tape them over the receiver as usual so there's no direct line of sight, the other box certainly won't see the wrong transmitter.

Keep your head cool now. If you are going to open them, you pretty much lose all justification of getting refunds or something, as it will be impossible to show how the possible damage happened (it will be obvious that they have been opened - there's a lot of sealing that will be damaged). Also, you will not become much wiser by just eyeballing
And also how does one get this tool for adjusting the lenght of the arm?
Hardly anywhere, unless you get to raid an old service establishment. You'll just need to duplicate its function somehow. For all that I can see, it is essentially a 90° gauge pivoted at the center of the platter. On the other hand

  • Re: how to connect beolab pentas to non B&O receiver

DO NOT connect power amplifier outputs into the RCA jack. It is ONLY for line level signals. It may work but you also have a good chance of accidentally playing way too loud, overloading the amps and destroying at least the tweeters. The "proprietary" (Speakerlink) connector is actually your best choice, if your amp/receiver doesn't have

Yes, it's under the right hand side edge, no need to open anything.

  • Re: BeoLab 8000s HELP!

Are you absolutely sure you are actually getting sound into the cable and the cable is not broken? If yes, that should indeed be enough. Do you know if the previous owner used them with the line input or through Powerlink? The PL input has a separate control connection for powering up the speakers. If he only used that, it's possible that the audio

  • Re: beogram 6000 for stereo

It has no problems playing stereo records, although it is useful to turn the selector switch to 2CH. Otherwise some music content might be mistaken for a CD4 carrier and fool the automatic detection. The CD4 decoder in the 6000 is actually a very good RIAA preamp, probably better than the one in most amplifiers or the builtin preamp in later Beograms
Hi, well you have 3 swiches 1 and 3 is left and right and the middle is Phono right? so they are both set in the middle.
Well, no... there should be a clear label next to the switch. Three positions, and as far as I remember, phono/line is all to way to one end, not in the middle.
