Hmmm, did it work before? The BG5000 has no RIAA amplifier, so it is quite normal that you hear almost nothing when connected to a standard input. Which Beomaster do you use? You need a Beomaster with an RIAA input channel or an externel RIAA amplifier, otherwise you hear ... nothing !

The broken loading unit: If you see something like this, then the loading unit is broken. This picture is from a VX5000, but the loading unit is identical to the VX7000, all parts are compatible. http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/7349/p1060018sm9.jpg The reason is a defect capstan motor or a defect motor control. The motor did not reverse and has broken

OK... some more than 6 caps, around 20 in total. You see these small red tantal caps, like a teardrop? Just replace them by the same capacity, but by a plastic MKS or MKP type. Wima MKS-2 is very good for this, even the size fits almost, but only almost. A 10uF Wima is twice a tantal in size. The white/silver axial caps are styroflex caps... they sound

Just a small idea... ;) In this time (1960-1975) there were tantal caps used in the amplifiers sound path and in the bass/treble regulators. Replace them by MKS/MKP capacitors. Tantal caps have a very long lifespan, but a very bad sound. Tantal causes a sound with way too much bass, but only small treble. My BM1001 had used 6 of these caps, replaced

Hi, the lamps of the older B&O hardware are a little bit special. I really dont know wether these were also used in your BM3000 since i have no manual of the BM3000 or the hardware, but the ones in my old BM1001 have this spec: 14V 40mA. B&O has used them a lot. Test a second one on a regulated power supply, probably you will measure the same

Hmmmm, send the drive to Ulf ? I'm sure he can cure the drive....

PLEASE do not post any answers, i'm still working.... i know this is a copy of the VX5000 workshop. I will copy and paste first and then modify the article..... Hi B&O fans, this is a little guide how to test and repair this VX7000 video deck. The VX7000 is a direct evolution of the older VX5000/5500 recorders, some the most advanced and also
