Not crashed/frozen at all in 3 weeks of owning it. There are a couple of things I've noticed that Apple need to fix but so far no problems at all.

No it sits flat on my desk. Its a Tesco's online DVD Rental disk and I've had problem disks from them before. The last one froze three quarters the way through The Last King Of Scotland. Very annoying.

Thanks, but whats making the noise?

Just tried watching a DVD and the disk failed to load. More worrying was the noise the player made (crackles/scratching/creaking). All other DVD's play fine with no noise and the suspect DVD plays in my PC with no problems??

David: I assumed that all the serene's make the same noise. I don't think it's dodgy, and i'm much happier with it disabled. Saves the battery life like you wouldn't believe. But the motorised opening gives the Serene its wow factor. Seems silly to turn it off just because its not silent.

I have my iMac connected by ethernet but can also connect by Airport. The iMac however choses the ethernet to connect. Download the widget iStat Pro its pretty handy for viewing connections and speed

Anti Virus software for Mac is a waste of money. Forget about it. It will cause far more problems than it will ever cure (if it will cure anything at all). Leave it all to Apple.
