I agree that sounds like the transformer. Obviously the best way to fix this is to replace the transformer but these are not readily available. Quick trick! I had a Beomaster 3000 that hummed and the table it was on seemed to amplify this. Two cut up squash balls made 4 half spherical isolating feet and this reduced the perceived hum so I couldn't

My Beogram 6000 amplifies up to line level. It sounds as though yours has a fault.

Actually the answer is no. The draw is done by taking the number of gold members, each of whom has a number and then using a random number generator to pick from those numbers. The only gold members who cannot win are Lee and myself.

Noise from plasma TVs has been a problem in the past. I seem to remember that B&O make a filter to get around the problem - worth asking.

Not on the Penta I am afraid. It may have blown a fuse if you are lucky. If not experienced in electronics, take it to someone who is. The internal packaging in the Penta amplifier is quite fragile and getting more so with age. The service manuals are on site though.

Have a look at the excellent description on Beocentral - both have a lift which is determined by the level of output at 1kHz. The bass boost , if I remember correctly, was 2dB more for the 3000 than the 5000. Fine sounding speakers.

To be honest, great speakers for those of us who can!
