Afraid each set has a unique code usually set by the customer so we can't help. The dealer will have it or can get the Mastercode from Struer.

B&O will sell you exactly that - but it is expensive! However Maplins will sell you the plugs and sockets and obviously speaker wire! They even do screw terminal versions so you don't need to solder. You can make the cables exactly the length you wish!

Actually it is a very useful anti burglar device - you can have the radio switching on and off and if you have them, you can get the 9500 to control light control units as well. In a link system, this can work though out the house.

That is normal - it would still switch on any connected link rooms. Just unplug the unit at the mains. It should retain your programmes for your return though you will need to reset the clock.

Do you mean the little stalk structure next to the tone arm? I thought this was involved in the opening mechanism for the lid over the turntable. The lift mechanism of the arm is controlled up at the arm pillar end.

It is supposed to do the option programming automatically when in the assigned room. Must confess that I think the Beo5 is, at present, a white elephant - however it will be interesting to see if it develops with the new Beosound 5.

Better sound and newer tube - as long as it is cheap! MX TVs are fetching very little at present so I would keep the MX5500 as well!

You can certainly remove it - the service manual tells you how. It is basically a V8000 though not very useful out of the Avant as the buttons to work it will be left on the Avant!

Yes you can. Clearly the age of the unit is important but I would not expect any problems with the one you want.
