Well, I'm sure it's repairable, but... Somebody probably has spares, or you can make them yourself from some hardware store stuff, but the question is: why? I know some people manage to break & lose the oddest things, but these are well attached. They tend to do that at this age when removed. The deck will operate just fine with two of them

That's great to hear! It will need to be repaired properly some day, but after this result it is safe to say the problem is just the battery. It won't be too expensive once you find someone willing and able to do the job, and this system is definitely worth keeping in use.
