  • Using an IR repeater

I have been using a Lintronic code-converter to convert B&O codes into 3rd party IR codes. However, using the Beo5 to directly control 3rd party devices is very appealing. It would save a lot of time to no longer need to program the Lintronic device. The problem, however, is getting the Beo5 signal to the third party devices which are concealed

  • Re: benefit in waiting for 2nd, 3rd generation Bs5 over the next 2-3 years?

I agree with Moxxey about the BC2 having software issues. Earlier software versions were prone to repeating chapters on DVDs and required pressing "GO" after every button on the Beo4 to carry out the command. I just had the software updated on mine and it corrected these issues. I think that the software updates for the BS5 via the internet

  • Re: Some basic BS5/BM5 questions

As I stated in the first post, you do have to connect the BM5 to the BS5 physically with the 3 cables (up to 4 meters). However, you can access and control the music on the BM5 wirelessly using the BeoPlayer program on your PC in another room. I agree with where your logic is headed: if a Windows computer can access and control the BM5/BS5 on a wireless

  • Re: Some basic BS5/BM5 questions

Moxxey, The BS5 becomes a part of your masterlink network just like any other source - via ML cable or ML wireless. As I mentioned, the link access is very much like that of the Beoport. You use N.Music on your Beo4/Beo5 in a link room to access the digital music stored on it. You use N.Radio to access the internet radio stations on it. You can use

  • Re: Some basic BS5/BM5 questions

Welcome to the club of BeoSound 5 owners, Moxxey! You're not going to regret your purchase. The BS5 must be connected to the BM5 via 3 cables. You can request 4-meter cables to allow for more flexibility of placement. You can access and control the n.music and n.radio via your BS4; however, you will still feel "blind" controlling it just

  • Re: THIRD PARTY BLU-RAY MULTI-REGION PLAYER THAT IS PUC CONTROLLABLE..HELP!

Any of the brands you mentioned should be controllable with the PUC. While blu-ray region encoding exists, it is not YET heavily enforced. Here is a useful list of titles that have or do not have region locks: http://www.blurayregioncodes.com/index.php?region=b

  • Re: Beocenter 2 improvement

Indeed. Such glitches are certainly unacceptable for a $4,000 to $5,000 DVD player. As B&O doesn't send out such "recall" notices, it's absolutely worth asking your dealer what issues have been found and corrected with updates. The "beo news" video clip to dealers last week addressed just this sort of problem with B&O

  • Re: Beocenter 2 improvement

Fortunately, I was able to have the firmware update made within the 3-year warranty. This update would be covered under the warranty due to the problem of chapters skipping back and repeating. B&O is quite aware of this issue.

  • Re: Copying using BeoConnect Mac, album art taking forever

Moreover, the BeoSystem 5 can be quite quirky and unresponsive for a few hours while it is analyzing new music that has just been added. You certainly would not want to add music just before enjoying the Beosystem 5 with guests. That would be quite frustrating.

  • Beocenter 2 improvement

I recently had the firmware of my MKI BeoCenter 2 updated with the most current firmware. Early firmware versions were prone to DVD chapters skipping back and replaying. This is corrected with a firmware update. Another improvement is the picture quality! Connected to a Beosystem 1, the BC2 DVD playback had very jagged artifacts. The picture is MUCH
