Agree with my brother in name, Søren, a preamp is, with the right cables, easy to connect I've had both my BGs connected to my BS3000 through preamp, no problem.

Design is a mather of personal taste, I like the BG 3000 series (tangential tracking), where the BG 4500 has a build in RIAA, from a mecanics point of view i prefere the older radial tracking decks, simple mecanics and elektronics, easy to repair and even so, good sound, considering that most of saved vinyl today is in lesser than mint condition, I

To the BS 3000 you can connect a TT with build in preamp direct to AUX in, without preamp build into the TT you will need a preamp and the proper cables. Search the forum for Beogram with preamp

Didnt find the BG 1500 manual, but you may look for 2 pcs potentiometers for speed adjustment, here the manual for 1102, belt drive, you may have a speed selector for +- speed or not, the adjustments may be under the platter, under the top cover or through holes in the buttom plate.

My kind of man, shimming is it, then you know where you are, without shimming it will allways be guess work, and you get a chance to clean and check under the dustcap. Good pics

Agree with Chris, and remember, only with the platter on the flywheel, the flywheel will have the correct hight.

Well, didnt work, down again, changed main rectifier and the 2 big 5000 caps, TR 27, cleaned all output transistors and applied new heat paste, repaired main switch. This model is without the voltage selector switch (US model), when I connect and turn on main switch I have 127 V in to the toroidal transformer, out to pin 9 and 10 i get 18 V AC (feeding
