I doubt that a SW update will allow to take advantage of the new audio codecs as HDMI 1.3 is needed. As far as I know the BS3 is not equipt with those. kawo

Dave, I would love to come! Unfortunately, the US is not around the corner...but I really appriciate your kind invitation :-)) and hopefully next time I have chance to visit your studio. Karsten

Will certainly do, however, it will take some time as I am rebuilding my "homecinema" room with some decent acustic treatment to take advantage of the full power of the lab 5 :-)) Also I am sure that my dealer will let me take one of his lab 9 home for a test. Thrilling test coming up! Karsten

Not sure what projectors B&O recommends these days as the ones I know which are on the list of the BS3 are not longer in production (as far as I know). Both Samsung are EOL, and the two SIM projectors as well (and also have some typical DLP drawbacks which would stop me from buying anyway) The HD1 is a great device, the black level is just breathtaking

I think we had an earlier discussion on the performance of the B&O center speakers in a Lab 5 setup before. I tested lab3, 7.4 and a 7.1, none of them could fill in "hole" in the middle left by the lab5. Finally I went with the 7.4, however, knowing that this is just a second best solution. The phantom center is an exellent idea, however

I have a JVC HD1 with the BS3. In general, it woks fine, however, the BS3 does some "intersting" processing to even 1080p images, the image is to sharp and the black level is not 100% correct. Also the BS3 works with a much colder colour temperature than normal, which is B&O standard. If you use only B&O products and recommended projectors

@Jean - a 1080p/60Hz picture is displayed on my JVC HD 1 without any problem, but with judder. I forced to BS3 to use the 60Hz rate in the service menu, without I had problems to display a signal on the projector (Error "out of freuquency range"). Unfortunately the JVC only displays the exact refresh rate in the service mode (and I don't

Quick update from B&O suport: Current version does not support 1080/24p, no idea if get fixed with a software update. HDMI 1.3 is not needed for 24p, 1.3 adds an extended color mode and the new HD audio codecs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-Definition_Multimedia_Interface#HDMI_1.3) Karsten
