• Re: synchronized backups

Another obvious one (sorry - haven't had time to dig around in BeoPlayer to see if there's a better way): When you open BeoPlayer and connect to the BM5, it "mounts" the BM5's disk on the local laptop. You could just use Windows Explorer and drag and drop the music folder from the BM5 to the external drive. Not fancy, but it would

  • Re: Beo5 newbie questions

No, you don't need a Lintronic box. However, I found that not all Pronto code seem to be created equal. I had some for my Toshiba TV that acted the same way (iirc). Keith sent me an XML file for a Toshiba TV that he had (different model) and it worked. I *think* that the code you posted is not the full code, but maybe some "well known"

  • Re: BeoSound 5 Bang&Olufsen's big mistake?
This is the essensce of the Beosound 5. It is not a video game, it is not a cure for your attention deficit disorder, it not a multi-tasking productivity enhancement device. It is for listening in a relaxed environment with little or no interuptions. It is not for everyone.
Exactly!

  • Re: B & O Highs and Lows

Recent B&O High: My BS5 is in! Recent B&O Low: The BS5/BM5 has arrived, but the USB cable that connects the BS5 to the BM5 has not... so I had to look at those boxes for a very long week.

  • Re: I hate my Beo 5!

Everybody at my house loves the Beo5. It also saved me thousands of dollars. I was going to buy a sale priced BV7 MkIII w/no DVD primarily for integration - I did not need 1/2 the features of the BV7 and was going to stick it in a cabinet (shameful to not display its beauty), but the 4 remotes in my living room (cable box, dvd, tv and Beo4 for the speakers

  • Re: By passing hard keys on beo 5 screen by programming.

If you're asking if hardkey can be programmed as soft, then from my experience, "yes". If you're also asking whether hardkeys can be disabled, then from my experience, "yes" (although, in my case, this was not what I wanted )... but luckily, you can turn them back on. The only qualification that I have to the above is the
I am awaiting "gapless" playing and a 2 way remote. Other then that I don't see anything wrong with it at this point. Maybe the christmas music issue but I would just remove that from the product during off season .... not having gapless though and no 2 way is a show stopper.
There is gapless playback

  • Re: BeoSound 5 Bang&Olufsen's big mistake?

I'd also like to add that I didn't fall for the BS5 until I went to a dealer a couple times and spent some quality time with it. When I first saw the price, features and pictures, I said, "nope, I definitely don't need that!". Saw it briefly at my local dealer, same reaction. Unfortunately (for my bank account) I could not leave

  • Re: BeoSound 5 Bang&Olufsen's big mistake?

I've had my BS5/BM5 for about a month and really enjoy it. I'm now listening to a lot more and varied music. I use it pretty much every day (for much of the day - I normally work from home), and I haven't had any technical problems with it (touch wood). I had a BeoPort + Mac + BM-Link for ~5 years, but this was too fiddly (it seemed every

  • Re: Problem with Beolab2 / AUX input

This sounds like you have the wrong cable. I will second the suggestion to try Steve at Sounds Heavenly. I have a couple of his PowerLink to RCA cables, and they work great. For whatever reason, it has been my experience that B&O dealers are challenged with accessory cables (mine gave me the wrong cable for a different application - using the PC
