Inside the VX What is the main problem around these VX recorders? It's pretty simple, it's time and heat. The VX becomes pretty hot during operation, they are now 12-18 years old and B&O used some of the worst caps on this planet. My experience with the black RUBYCON and the blue NICHICON is sooooo bad, i cant tell you... Take a look at

Peolab Penta audiophil, dann beben Scheiben ;) Guckst du Workbench Forum, Workshop Beolab

Are you really sure that it is a tape and no paint? When i look at a MCP5500 or BM5500 then it is a clear paint, printed on the glass. And the defects on some MCP's look quite the same like on your BM2000 ... I used paint for glass works from the hobby shop.

As mentioned before: downgrading from a version 3.x to 1.x needs the old teletext board. Without replacing the teletext board, it will not work. For software 1.x or 2.x you need this module, otherwise it will not work.

Hi B&O friends, last week a friend of mine came with a defect MX4000 and needed some help with this tv. The defects on this tv are 90% always the same, so i think, that a small workshop would help other users. I dont recommend this to a totally beginner, but if you know how to handle a tv with 27kiloVolts voltage, ok, then go on. If not, stop here

VX and MX must have a two-way software version. A one-way MX will not transmit data from a two-way VX, at least not using the ir-interface.
