  • Re: Pricing Beovision 8-40

More watts very rarely means better speakers/better sound, I expect they may do something with the drivers at the front of the cabinet. The subwoofer seems more than capable but as a centre channel, those little drivers at the front of the BeoVision 8-32 will begin to struggle, especially if sat between a pair of BeoLab 9s!

  • Re: Comments on BeoVision 1

I find that surprising! The BeoVision/Center 1 has been one of the most reliable BeoVisions to date from what I can tell...

  • Re: How to use AUX in on Beocenter 2500

Arndt has already soldered a cable. I've run into this several times - try swapping round the pins, ie, wiring it to the output instead!

  • Re: Crazy BS9000 problem

I personally wouldn't - WD40 drives out moisture and tends to make jack sockets go 'squeeky', although I've never tried it on a 1/8" jack, only 1/4" jacks. I can't see why a 1/8" jack should be any different.

  • Re: Sound level on BV 7-40 MKII vs. MKIII

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the mk2 go up to 72 while the mk3 goes up to 90?

  • Re: Crazy BS9000 problem

You could put the speakers in option 2 and disconnect the PowerLink using only the S/PDIF. A temporary work-around. Watch it though as the speakers won't be synchronized so could end up running at different volumes.

  • Re: Comments on BeoVision 1

Sound quality is good, but not on par with say, a BeoVision 3 or Avant, but I would still happily listen to music on one! Picture quality is second to none on a screen of that size and they're very reliable too. Shame there's nothing in the range to replace it - here around Bath they were very very successful - perfect for what people needed

  • Re: What's playing RIGHT NOW?

Watermelon Man by Herbie Hancock from Headhunters on (mint condition) vinyl > Rega Planar 3. Sounds quite nice.

  • Re: Bargains the ones we dont see

From my limited ebay selling experience, other-brand speakers and vintage kit seems to go for next-to-nothing on ebay and isn't particularly wantable as while it may well sound good, it doesn't fit in with modern design/lifestyles wheras B&O does. I would still choose a lot of B&O's older (70s and 80s) kit over modern kit from other

  • Re: Blue Beolab Picture

I can see why you did this - it definitely makes it much more interesting! From a personal taste point of view, I would have painted the wall behind burgundy and kept the grey and black speakers but design is IMO an immensely personal thing.
