Beomaster 2200 would be my choice - cheap and very good. The old 2000 is also unloved and is a superb performer. Use one of those with a decent MP3 player and you will have an excellent system. What is wrong with the S30?

At a guess, the 7 will be a relatively early one so I would get the 5. If you can get an HD ready one, it has a great picture and is almost as stylish as your AV9000. Your system will work perfectly with either set.

They seem to be identical - the US one has a manual in inches where the EU one has the manual in cm. I attach them to this post.

Actually the tape is used widely in the BG8000/2. Also use to stick down the platter surround and the metal plate above the arm. I use two pack Epoxy on mine. The 8000 is quite an odd deck - lots of wonderful features and then awful materials used - the hinge for the lid is set in very cheap plastic which can explode into shards. Nothing like the build

I think it depends on what you look for in a picture. The 100Hz Avant and BV3 have quite a few digital artefacts which some people find objectionable. Each set is usually a compromise - for colour an old 3400SJ is great but you wouldn't want to use one every day.

The side units are passive ABRs so don't move so much normally.

Well it shows that the amplifier is working - just not very well! I would go to a dealer - probably a fault - how old are they? They should not overload so difficult to know what has gone wrong, You didn't put amplified output through them did you?

I suppose the LX is reliable because it was at the end of the line of the series. The tubes were very tried and tested - Avants obviously had a new tube and these did give problems initially. MX tvs were different initially but as Brett says, the LX6000 and MX6000/7000 are much the same set.

Difficult to say but I doubt it is not working at all so may just need adjusting. Can you feel the bass units moving?
