  • Re: An awkward Avant issue involving new housemates

Leave a note. I'm sure they would ask you how to turn it off, if you were there; nobody wants to mess with the power cord if there's an easier way. Remember, most people have never seen one, let alone used one before, and these things aren't exactly the most obvious to figure out...

  • Re: CX 50 drive units + & - connections

Try it with one speaker first and listen? I'd expect it to sound notably funny with an out-of-phase driver. Another option might be to try flicking the driver with a small DC voltage (a small 1.5V battery is definitely enough, limit it with a 15 ohm or so series resistor if you want to be extremely safe) and see which way the cone moves. I can't

  • Re: Connect a Beomaster 6500 to non-B&O speakers

jmarcedo: I was thinking in attaching a regular turntable, such as a "Project", wich you can find here: http://www.project-audio.com/main.php?list=turntables&cat=turntables&lang=en I suppose they have a RCA connection... That'll work fine, but you'll still need an external RIAA preamplifier (and an RCA to DIN adapter cable

  • Re: Beomaster 6500 muting relay?

OK, thanks - I'll replace the relay eventually. But in the meantime, since I have a standalone system with passive speakers, do I lose anything (in addition to the muting function, of course) if I just run the speakers from #2 outputs?

  • Beomaster 6500 muting relay?

Well, I have a slight problem in my new Beomaster 6500 as well (seriously, I won't have any more problems in a while after this ). After I switch it on, the right channel is notably quieter. If I crank the volume up to 36 or so, the channels even out and stay fine as long as the BM remains switched on, even at low volume. Second speaker outputs

You were right, that works. I suppose the guy I bought this set from also had a B&O TV sometime in the past. Thanks a bunch!

  • Re: Torben B. has been sacked!!!!!

Daniel: In Sweden they´ve canceled DAB last year after paying almost 10 million £ in the project. So we don´t care about DAB. Same in Finland, or maybe it was two years ago. Nobody had receivers, so nobody was interested. We do have some radio stations in DVB-T distribution, however, and it isn't much worse as far as quality goes

Ignace: Regarding 1; tuning and saving radio stations : RADIO on Beolink 1000. Press GO TO, press frequency (0-9), or use arrows < / > To store: press STORE, then the number you want to store it to, then STORE again. (i haven't used a Beolink 1000 with Beomaster 6500 for a long time, so i'm not 100% sure this is correct....) It was, works

rgbyhkr: I can't speak for what B&O may deliver, but I can tell you that there are solutions out there that are doing digital music in a very satisfying way. Lossless storage to retain full fidelity of your original CDs, Actually this isn't hard at all anymore. I've seen 500GB external hard disks for less than 100 euros. This will hold

  • Re: Still can't stop buying old B&O!!

Craig: Snap, we have a Beomaster 900K in the Kitchen. Also have a full Beosystem 1000 in the Bedroom. Which colour Beomaster 1000 do you have? I have the earlier White version. It's black in rosewood, I guess one of the latest versions with silicon transistors (which I actually prefer - it was a bit of work to find a working AD139 to replace the
