As with everything else Bang & Olufsen, condition is everything. A non-working Beomaster 1900 is not worth a lot since servicing can be expensive and in some cases impossible since many repairshops reject repairs to these when they discover that a repair needs to be on discrete component level rather than modules. Using Ebay as reference, a nice

To activate the timer function you need to hold step while pressing mute (or the other way around, I don't have one myself and don't remember exactly). Martin

Easy - no, not really but not impossible, I've done several. You need to dismount the display and flip-down front panel to gain access to the cable. The cable will have to be removed and is no longer available from B&O but I have had success with mounting discrete thin flexible wires instead of the ribbon. Feeling the difference in flexibility

The front panel ribbon cable is bad, it's very common. Martin

Welcome to Beoworld ! A bargain, even if dirty and non-working ! One should never throw out B&O and especially not a design icon like the Beomaster 1900. Complete lamp kits and also capacitor kits are readily available for this model containing correct components/wattage etc. The lamp kit comes with dis-/assembly instructions, specifically helpful

Designwise - not much. Technically - a lot. Major differences are that the Beogram 6002 are belt-driven where the Beogram 6006 uses an eddie-current system with extremely precise optical feedback and no moving parts apart from the platter (and the spindle on which it rests of course). The 6006 have full datalink where the 6002 only works one way. The

It differs. Some seems to be lacquered (f.e. Beomaster 1200 and early Beograms), others are thin melamine (70's Beovox speakers) or an even thinner adhesive surface (80's Beovox speakers), yet others have cast white plastic panels (Beomaster 1900/2400 and some 70's Beograms). None are easy to restore or replicate. Martin

Yes, the little spring is for grounding of the platter surround. You can get some nasty static shocks if not mounted correctly. Martin

Welcome to Beoworld ! I never had to remove the platter surround to service a Beogram of this type, what kind of service are you thinking about ? Martin

Replacing the leads is no crime as long as a fair quality lead is used and the job is done correctly. The original type of lead is adequate for this type of speaker but there can be many reasons to replace them (discoloring, lenght, wall-paint etc.). The wires don't need to be monster cables, I have used 2x0.75mm2 and 2x0.50mm2 which will be fine
