From your list, the following kits are readily available; BM1700 (both versions) BM2400 BM4000 Generally, apart from the Beomaster 900K and 1000 which doesn't really suffer from major cap problems - at least not yet, capacitor kits are available for most Beomasters, Beocenters, selected Beograms, Beocords and most Beovox speakers of the 1970's

Nice link but errr... no less than 3 different belts listed for the 5000, one is currently being custom made. Probably because they found out that none of the ones they sold already didn't quite fit, which BTW is correct. - And two different sizes for the Beogram 3000 (type 5231) and for the Beogram 1900 - messed up pretty good. Did someone actually

A Jet and a Penta, what a pair and you can actually connect a Penta to the JET, talk about compatibility. And what a nice photo this is, I love the warm glow and the JET seems a perfect fit here. Nice to know that this little beauty ended with a new caring owner. Martin

First thing would be to grab a capacitor kit, replace the lot and check for bad solders on the main circuit board while in there. Aging capacitors are causing the strangest faults in these wonderful machines and I've even seen some capacitors having blown themselves to pieces. If the speed is irregular check the condition of the tachodisc under

Welcome to Beoworld ! Your Beogram is in need of cleaning and lubrication of the motor bearings. It's a 1-phase AC motor and it needs to be taken apart to do it right. We've seen this a couple of times before, do a search on these fora and you'll find more info. It's a lovely deck and worth the trouble. Martin

Just saw the Serenata presentation from Berlin on danish news. A great pan over the audience but not enough time to spot Lee in the crowd. A couple of people were asked but seemed to prefer the iPhone, the click-wheel being the problem but on the other hand would need time to play around with them to finally decide. Martin

Beogram 4000 is a wonderful deck but a beast to adjust ground-up. You are on the right track (sorry) and the tracking force adjustment can be offset by adjusting the screw at the rear side of the counterweight. The drop time is adjusted by means of the little screw ontop of the brass cylinder. As little as 1/8th of a turn is probably all it needs and

Good job so far! Tracking force is next, check it using a tracking force scale. Still thin - try another cartridge. There are no electronics in the signal way, just the cartridge, the leads and a muting relay. Martin

The arm is supposed to lower exactly where it hovers. If the servo motor activates during lowering of the arm it sounds like your deck is in need of adjusting the tracking sensor. This is NOT the sensor in the arm next to the tonearm but a sensor housed below decks, practically under the tonearm. It's a lamp/interrupter/sensor assembly. Wrong adjustment

Yes, on the top of the dampener cylinder. Do you have the service manual ? Martin
