Mr10Percent: We are not all funny folk who stink of wee and wear white lab coats and have big foreheads, oversized pinnas and have nothing.....nothing in their life except their hi-fi mag collection and a cat called "Miff". 10% You have been spying on me again, haven't you?

Tried splitting it but not as easy as it seems - just lost 3 posts - apologies - they are, like the truth, somewhere out there! I suggest we leave alone or get someone clever like Keith to do it rather than this idiot! I hate these Beolab 5 threads - I will end up buying some if you lot keep on!

  • Re: Is any of my old kit worth anything or just the skip :-(

In absolute terms, not a huge amount but you do have one of the best sounding systems made by B&O. The speakers are still well worth having and the record player sounds as good as almost any made by B&O. The Beocenter has a superb amplifier and is a forgotten master. The cassette part was a simplified Beocord 5000 and as such was one of the

I use a system with 3 Beocom 6000s,a Beocom 2, a Beotalk 1200 and an internet router all attached to one line. As long as you have filters attached, it seems to work OK. Having said that, I think the Beotalk 1200 is not B&O's finest hour - one of the few products for which you need the manual - repeatedly!

  • Re: Passive Penta speakers

Medogsfat: shane2468: 4. Also, how much do the passive penta's weigh? 4. Dunno - but they're pretty heavy, if I were to guess I'd say @ 15kgs each. Chris. Good guess! 17kg!

  • Re: Passive Penta speakers

Single - there are two binding posts underneath the speakers - they are exactly the same as the active speakers which simply attach the power amplifier to these two binding posts. The Beolab Penta is actually a powered speaker rather than an active one in reality as the cross over is passive and above the power amplifier. The later Beolab speakers had

  • Re: Beogram 1200 Speed adjustment

There is a speed adjustment though it may be that the speed could be slow for a couple of other reasons. Check the belt - this is a round section belt and can be loose. They are available through specialists but are expensive! You can perform minor surgery by removing a small piece and sticking the two ends with super glue - but this is last resort
