Sounds like an ML issue probably related to switching the PC off. Switch the Beoport off (unplug it) and then switch back on again. That usually fixes it. If not, switch the BS4 off at the same time and when you switch back on, switch the BS4 on last. My Beoport can be temperamental but not that often as I rarely switch my Mac off.

You know the user manual is on the official site? Not much use, but it should be there. How many SCART sockets have you? If 3, the VCR captive lead should be in the one on the right , looking at the back of the set.
-
Is the V.Tape plugged in to the SCART at the back?
-
Which Beo4? Normally you would just press V.Tape but if it does not have that, press V.Mem.

I have taken off your details!

Well that is unusual! If you look at some SP cartridges, they do have a dimple in the centre but not a pin. This is clearly an earth pin and I guess it is an early type which fits an early deck. What type of cartridge is it? An SP2? My SP2 has 4 pins though. Martin will know for definite!! The dimple between the other pins is often seen - there is one

Good pictures! And very brave! The 6000 is one of the pieces I would not personally take apart! The Beocord 5000 is the other!

In my view yes. My favourite cartridge to listen to is probably my SMMC20EN.

The Soundsmith ones are better sounding if not quite as nice looking.

That is my grail B&O I suppose! I'll probably never get one, but one can dream! Beautiful radio!
