I suppose it all comes down to scale of production and the price B&O owners are thought to be willing & able to pay! Little wonder LC2s still command high prices on auction sites as there do not appear to be any 'reasonably' priced alternatives. The Lintronics may be good and effective but with tax are ridiculously expensive especially

Hi: A Mermaid is a monitor made by a different company to B&O but with a simillar style - think Beovision1 on a smaller scale and without the triangulated speaker.
