  • Re: MCP 6500 hinge

Mission accomplished! Unfortunately there was a misunderstanding, I only got one pair and the price (3 €) for was one hinge. The hardest part is getting the old hinge out without scratching the lid. Of all the B&O pieces I've had my hands on, this was the first which could be opened simply by removing a number of obvious screws The part

  • Re: Beogram 5500, Fine Tuning?

Medogsfat: To be honest the track skip function on these decks isn't very good. You may as well use the buttons on the deck as you'd need to be close to the record to see the set down point in any case. This is something I've been thinking about. If the vinyl had prevailed until now, it would be so easy to make a real track search function

  • Re: Excessive hum from 4002 turntable

Good thing you brought this up, I just realized that the muting circuit in my "new" 6000 doesn't mute at all, and I just thought it didn't have one in the first place! Better that way, though, but I'll still want to fix it... The picture above seems to be related to some modification which removes the delay in the muting circuit

  • Re: original Beo 1000 new to me and not working but supposed to be!

Another: 1 AMp/tuner works on radio and tape functions but Radio output is very low and on left side port only. By that I mean the paired speaker outputs only work on the socket to the left (when viewing from the front). 3 Record deck needs opening up. No noise or action from moving arm no further idea why not working. 1 This might be just oxidized

  • Re: General questions concerning the BeoMaster 901

zodiac: I just wonder, if somebody could tell me something about the sound quality of the 901. Especially in relation to high end models of the time, considering the rather cheap price of ~ 120 Pounds. It's OK, but there's no helping that it has power amplifiers with a single-sided supply and therefore AC coupled outputs to the speakers. It

  • Re: Beogram 6000 prematurely ends play

Thank you, thank you. Tomorrow I'll need to raid the flea markets in search of something new to play A final observation, which I'll post in case it might help someone searching the forums for troubleshooting information later: at first I was scratching my head over why the selection of record size & speed for 45 rpm singles only worked

  • Re: MCP 6500 hinge

I happened to be downtown today, so I visited the B&O dealer (there has to be a first time for everything...) and asked about their spare part policy in general, and the MCP 6500 hinge in particular. He called Denmark immediately, confirmed the part number, and that they are still available at an insane price of three euros / pair. He was also sorry

frankmj: I don't think the Finns would mind, they are not a part of Scandinavia Got that right. And I don't think the three of us (or so) that actually post something need our own forum, either -mika

  • MCP 6500 hinge

I've got a MCP 6500, which is practically mint except for one of the hinges. The lid "sags" at one end, apparently due to missing teeth in the hinge. Looks like a crappy underengineered design and probably is a common problem - are the hinges available as spare parts for any reasonable price? -mika

  • Re: General questions concerning the BeoMaster 901

zodiac: I am actually up to asking you to give me some more tips on other B&O receiver/amplifiers. What others are there, that are minimalistic but still good looking? Doesnt have to be slider style. Beomaster 2000 (the older one from the mid-70s). Still waiting for mine to arrive It ought to sound good, as the amplifier output stage doesn't
