Has to be your decision but the Beolab 1 is the best speaker by some margin. However you need to listen to them. The Beolab 1 can sound a bit bright almost cold to some ears and is not the most relaxing speaker to listen to. It is however powerful and accurate. The chassis is basically the same as that found in the Beolab 9. The 8000 is the most beautiful

When you say illegal, I take it that you mean on style grounds!

I cannot believe that Hamilton has been penalised. The incident was a racing incident where he took a short cut across a chicane - if he had not there would have been a collision. He then let Kimi back through before passing him at the next corner. To be handed a 25 second penalty seems perverse.

Interesting set of faults! Sounds electronic to me so I would suggest testing the value of the components. The slow starting of the 45 speed makes me wonder about the actual motor though.

True, but if you want to use it in this way, get a VX5500 which has far more controls on the machine itself. The only advantage of a VX7000 really is the extra head and faster rewind speed, neither of which will matter in this application.

Hi Craig, Welcome to the Beogram 4000/2 appreciation society! I'll answer your questions in order. 1. The stylus is an integrated unit and the MMC4000 has not been available new for at least 25 years. You can get new cartridges from Soundsmith - I use an SMMC20EN in one of my 4000 type decks and it is fantastic. 2. B&O cartidges have a load

I have certainly heard of this before. First thing to do is change the capacitors. Also look at the tacho disc. Martin can supply both.

Agree with the above - the 4500 has a protection circuit as do all the later amplifiers. However I have used my 9500 to drive S75s for years and it never once backed off the volume. In fact the only time any protection circuit has ever cut in on any of my amplifiers was when I was power testing them - the Beomaster 7000 shut off as the load was 4 ohms
-
Last time that happened to me I was simply given a new pair in exchange.

There are 4 types and you really want the last version which is HD ready. Type 8939,894X. You can access the hours played in the service menu. Obviously not full HD but no worse for that!
