Had both. The 8000 is the one I have kept because it is the flagship an because I have a 4400 as well which is very similar in sound to the 6000 . I think the 6000 if anything sounds sweeter than the 8000 but agree with the above statement that the speakers make far more difference.Not so keen on S80s but S120s are great. The 4002 is the easiest deck in the world to open up! Remove the cartridge. The wood trim around the three sides of the deck will be able to be pushed forward from the back. It has slides on that hold the metal panels in place. Once it is slid forward, the panels simply lift off. The panel around the platter, the platter and the plate under the arm

It attaches to the input marked 4 and works with the Phono selector. The button iunder the slide panel needs to be selecting 4ch. The Beogram has a 5 pin DIN plug with all 5 pins being used. The user manual for the 3400 is on site.

They are 2 pin DIN connectors - you need one male and one female for each lead. Available from Maplin in the UK but try on the internet. B&O still sell made up leads.

Agree completely with above - I used to run a wire from the metal of the Beogram between the lid back and the chassis and it worked fine. It will be an earth issue. Also agree about the cartridge - if it works use it! Set the tracking weight to about 1.2g and adjust by ear.
