  • Re: Beogram 8000, spins too fast!

Thanks Chris, A genius is a person who knows everything there is to know about a specific thing. I'm no genius, I still have a lot to learn about everything. I agree that it could indeed be a tachodisc problem. If the pattern is coming apart it will need replacing and would be the first thing to get right. I'm afraid you can forget about any

  • Re: Shift, Phono?

You can see a tiny glow in the IR LEDs. I can too but I believe not all people can. A digital camera is a perfect tool for checking IR LEDs and CD player lasers (don't ever look directly into one of these, it's bad for your eye and you won't see anything anyways). Martin

  • Re: Parts for Beogram 4002

Lovely deck but a beast to service. There's a tracking sensor, reading the position of the tonearm. It activates the servo motor to advance the position of the tonearm carriage to keep the tonearm and record sensor arm parallel. Some decks are even capable of tracking outwards (!) There's an adjustment to check on page 4-6 in the service manual

  • Re: Beomaster 6000

The processor could be running out of control. I suppose you already tried to reset it. Pull out the mains plug, leave it out for a couple of minutes and then plug it back in. There can also be a fault at the volume control motor and potentiometer. A lose or shorted wire or plug. Does the red volume indicator bar show maximum ? Martin

Don't hesitate to ask should you or the repairshop need a part. Some of us are known to have the odd part lying around. Martin

  • Re: BEOGRAM Recorder 4004 sparepart 800 50 27

Göran, Welcome to Beoworld ! Parts for these decks are becoming scarce and I doubt you will be able to find a board. Tell the repair shop to repair the board rather than replace it. Modern stereo is built using modules, swap and go, "everybody" can service it. Your Beogram was built to be repaired on component level but finding repairshops

  • Re: Ancient Beogram CD 50 not happy

Maybe your amp can't be ruled out but there are some capacitors near the power supply area on the bottom main PCB in the CD50. One or two are for the muting circuit and I've seen them go wrong a couple of times. Look through the schematics in the service manual and you'll see what I mean. The front door hangs if someone tried to pull it

  • Re: Beocenter 2800 - some questions

Hi Paul, and welcome to Beoworld ! Wonderful machine and not one of the most commonly seen. A soft cloth with a few drops of soapy water will be fine. The perspex lid can be polished using NOVUS products (#2 and #1 in that order). The scratchy controls is also a common problem but in most cases it will settle with daily use (who uses these daily anyways

  • Re: B&O Beocord 3300.

Probably not the same cap again and a complete recap would be optimal. Anyway, there is a pair of caps on the top PCB, often black radial ones. They are 220uF/10V, I think, and slightly underdimensioned - often fails. The cap kit contains 40V components for these positions if I remember correctly but 220uF/25V will also work fine. The problem is that
