Assuming you are using an European version of 7-40 Mk4 or 5. I'm using the FS-23 connected to a BV 10-46-EU and I installed a FS-23 on a BV 7-40Mk5-EU of friends (both systems with new Beo4s) setup of TV: - used AV3 and set it to "V.AUX2" or "PC" - set AV 3 to YPbPr to YES - *) installed a 3.5mm mono jack <> 3,5mm mono

The description of your scren menu tells it's an early 90's MX 6000. Using a BeoLink 1000 you start tuning by pressing "GOTO" using a very old Beo4 you'll find "GOTO" as a "LIST" command and will have to "ADD" it to your "LIST" using a newer Beo4 you'll find "V.SETUP" as a "LIST"
...presumably it's a visit to the local dealer with an open wallet?
SW-Chip is +/- EUR 45 + costs of labour (15 - 30 min)
Are there any variations in software between the two units?
As far as I can remember, none. At least the recent SW 1.6 (B&O part/order# 8006128) can definitely be used for BeoLink Passive as well as ML/MCL converter. History: SW 1.4 - Solves problem "no sound in linkroom" when unit being operated

... if you add an IR-Receiver, some mounting hardware, a 5m cable to connect the IR-Receiver to a ML/MCL-Converter and the Guide for the BeoLink Passive you'll get a "BeoLink Passive" for approx EUR 30,- less ... but - maybe your dealer will charge you an extra charge of EUR 29,99 for ordering these parts separately
