soundproof: I may be totally missing the point here, but I really don't get this "they should have built in Freeview/DVB" and whatever. As Daniel points out above, in most markets people are getting their tv-signals from a variety of providers, with an increasing portion of the same offering decoders/tuners for you to be able to access

ajames: However in B&O's defence they do build in a set top box controller, giving the customer choice in the way in which they receive digital programs and it's upgradeable as technology changes - such as HD etc. Biggest plus point has to be that you can controll the box you choose with your B&O remote. On the other hand for the cost

The rolled frame on the new range isnt a welcome improvement. From a distance it looks like plastic( it isnt) but it makes the unit look even bigger. Far prefer the sharper frame as before. And when the bl10 comes along it seems to match the old BV4 perfectly but not the new one! I never heard of a consumer complain about the alteration of colours during

moxxey: 355f: I take it this aa universal setting - so what does this do to the HD image? Yes, it is. My dealer warned me that a fix may actually just reduce the sharpness of the image, thus affecting HD picture quality. I don't think you can have both - effective SD and pin sharp HD. I'm going to be more positive than I've been in the past

moxxey: Beolab: Yes!... Go to the Service menu + Picture Menus + Panel /PW ADJUST menu. There you have the Sharpness Level in the bottom of this menu. So, the 'fix' is something that can already be fixed? I'm finding the B&O 'experience' to be a bit bizarre at the moment. Surely they could have suggested this months ago, perhaps

rvanham: Please do not expect wonders with HDMI 1.3 In fact for picture and sound quality there is NO difference between HDMI 1.2 and HDMI 1.3 while using DVD, HD-DVD or blue ray. There is a very good article on this subject. http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/show/Joshua_Zyber/High-Def_FAQ/High-Def_FAQ:_Is_HDMI_1.3_Really_Necessary/853 Obviously, one

mobeyone: Another thing to add is that in terms of growth, has B&O reached a plateau? can it really create more avenues for revenue in what could be a shrinking market if consumer confidence is as many believe on a downward spiral? is it wise for a company the size of B&O to be investing at this moment in time? Personally, I think B&O are

I dont think its a question of doubting the business savvy of BnO at all. I suppose one could argue that the ones most likely to offer the better solution are those that are not directly involved in it- this is the case with many business transformations that have taken place in the past. When a busienss model has been effective in the past its very

For the cost structure, there was an interview with Torben where he mentioned that they make a much higher margin towards the end f the cycle of a product. Might have to do with lower part cost but also could be volume. QUOTE Well of course it will be! One anticipates that the life of the product in the range will be say 7 years, so its priced accordingly
-
Mr10Percent: I was once told by my dealer, that the total number of B&O products (major products i.e. TV’s, audio systems and loudspeakers) was circa 15,000 units per year for the entire UK. If one could assume the UK constitutes say 10% of the world market of say a guestimated 150,000 units, one can realise that B&O probably makes no
