I had both pairs of my S45-2s next to each other yesterday, and it was immediately obvious that one pair of frets was much more faded than the other having turned grey rather than black. Has anyone tried using fabric dye or similar to return speaker frets to fully black? Simon

Maplin do 8" Woofers for 9.99 or 12.99 each that are visually pretty similar, could be worth a try if the skip is the only alternative! Simon

If he sold it all separately he would get: £40 for each if the cartridges if they both work, but they will be getting to an age where that is far from certain, even if they have never been used. The suspension can harden due to age rendering the cartridges useless. £5-20 for the music centre without cartridges. He may find no buyer at all
