Ups, i dont remember which pin is what signal ... i did it with a multimeter. Check the pins which are activated when Track 0 is reached and measure the polarity. I think, one pin is ground, identical to the frame of the CD50, the other one is a pull up resistor to 5V... but, check it please. A10uF 16V cap is ok.

Exactly what it means... you can see the sparks! Switch off the light and watch the mainboard around the transformer. You will see the light...

Hmmm, i dont have the manual for the LX2802... but C369 means probably BC369, this is a common PNP transistor. Look at www.segor.de http://www.segor.de/bilder/00001607.jpg

The sound of the tuner is not loud enough or noisy or missing: First of all, replace all caps inside the metal tuner box. Use MKS or MKP plastic caps for replacement for the 1uf caps, also the 6.8uf makes sense in plastic. Some versions use 33uF, 47uF or even 100uF caps for filters in the power supply lines. Replace them by 100 or 220uF type, the bigger

The upper mainboard: This here is the upper mainboard. It can be removed pretty easy out of the VX, every connector or plug is used only one time, so it's almost impossible to plug a wire into the wrong socket. The foil cable is something special. Pull the bright plastic part a little bit and the foil cable will be released... and if you press it

No, there is no need to adjust the tuner. Just replace the caps inside, that's enough.

This happens when the highvoltage begins to change due to wear and tear... The tube is probably not the problem, this type of philips tube is one of the very best tubes ever produced. It's very resistent and durable. You should begin to replace the caps of the mainboard. Since the mainboard is still working, it's really not a big deal to replace

Wait... MX4000/6000/7000: V1.x is two-way. V2.x and higher is one-way. Only MX3500/5500 is always two-way...
-
This is not quite correct. The later MX4000/6000 had counters. V1.0 and V1.1 has no counters, this would right. V2.x has counters. Almost like this MX5500... my camera is damaged so i use this picture
