The two screws may not be obvious but are vertical and with heads down. If they are not there I take it that the sides on your Beocenter is black plastic with white surface rather than covered aluminum. The plastic panel sides are pressed on. You need to lever them off gently using a flat tool of some kind, spatula, screwdriver or similar inserted from

When it comes to opening the unit there are two types of Beocenter 1800. One has two screws at the back side, the other has screws along the left and right sides behind the (wooden or white) side panels. Not all lids will close fully if wall mounted, most will stop

As Peter suggests, there were countless production changes and far from all are documented. The service manuals certainly differs from what's actually put in to most machines. I still have to see a machine that completely fits a service manual. The boards are generally NOT interchangeable, the processors are definitely not, codes, what's displayed

Cleaning and lubrication of all the mechanics. There's no other way. Everything needs to run smoothly and well-oiled. Martin

Yes, caps ! Good job Martin

Most likely a case of aging capacitors. Grab a capacitor kit and send in for service with the Beomaster. Maritn
