  • Re: Got a package today

h1npw: How (as in what substances / products) do you intend using for the clear part of the lid ? I've currently got a BG5500 which is in great condition apart from this bit and I'm not sure what to use. Mine is so bad that I think some kind of electric buffer wheel will have to be used or else it will take weeks to do manually! Haven't

benkap: I hope the platter was on the BG6500, though! Yes, the platter (and subplatter) were included - packed separately, thank God. It also occured to me why the platter rode so high. Instead of the transport screws in the bottom, the seller had tightened the adjustment screws on the top! Otherwise it was packed quite reasonably, so I guess the seller

  • Re: MX6000 shuts down

ipaul: BU2508DF is correct, also check solderings of C101/102 and the power supply area of the pcb since this could be the cause of the trouble. Thanks - I already bought both AF and DF, they were cheap... the old transistor seemed OK but I'm replacing it anyway. I'm working on the chassis now but have a delay, since most of the caps I've

  • Re: MX6000 shuts down

Short interim report. Per nobby's advice, I cleared the "last error" in service mode (was "pf") and waited till the set shut down again so I could confirm the current error. However, this time it did that hard, blowing the fuse. I now have the chassis apart, and TR1 (BUT12) has shorted. I'll replace that, and the caps that

Well, that took all of ten minutes The left side of the chassis was indeed off the hook of the leaf spring. Works perfectly now as far as I can see! Now I've been lucky twice with shipped Beograms. Probably I should stop while I'm ahead...

  • Got a package today

A couple of weeks ago I felt a little stupid after I placed a maximum bid of a round 303,60 euros on a rather vaguely listed Beogram 6500, but I just couldn't pass for the third time the opportunity to have a complete white Beosystem 6500, with all the works. What do you know, I won the d*mn bid at exactly that amount... Well, today I got the parcel

  • Re: Correct fuse value for BG 4000?

I can't look at the service manuals now to see how the voltage / fuse ratings go, but could this be a possible problem?

  • Re: Beogram 6000 mystery spring

That makes perfect sense! One of the lid screws was missing in my machine (luckily, not the lug - I replaced both screws with regular Phillips head screws, easier to work with since you can't see them). Perhaps the spring is supposed to push the lid holder lug up so the lid is easier to install, or just to keep it from rattling around when they

  • Re: Beosystem 3300 - questions and advice please (also, hello from a new member!)

krysk: 1. I paid $80 (US dollars) for everything. I am almost positive I got a great deal but would love to know what these are going for. Hello, and welcome to Beoworld! You'll find you'll be spending an increasing amount of time here... If really in flawless condition, I think five times that would've still been a good price - congratulations
