Puncher: Napster is now selling 256K MP3's, DRM free, on a per track basis, rather than via subscription. They supposedly have the largest catalogue of any internet seller. "We're sorry but you cannot purchase tracks from outside the United States."

Wow, good to know I'm driving a luxury car

Makes perfect sense, thank you again The MCP would've been a great product if it had maybe 8 characters worth of alphanumeric display (and control for TV as well). However, I still use it a lot - even if mostly for volume control and as a desktop clock...

Ignace: Regarding the CONTROL button; this lets you control other components (f.e. Beocord) whilst another source (f.e. Beogram CD) is playing. F.e. rewinding Beocord while playing a cd. I've actually missed that function; thank you

Anybody know how this stuff works on MCP6500? The Beosystem 6500 manuals on site only talk about Beolink 7000 ("Control" is another mystery button...)

What I learned while fixing my MX6000 (thanks, guys!) is that when the BUT12 shorts, it can take some of its driver transistors with it (no wonder, they might receive the 300 or so volts from the suppy line for a moment until the fuse blows). I used a BUT12AF. The only specs I can see differing from the A'less version is a slightly smaller CE saturation

Oh well, the server crash ate both your & my posts from last night, so I'll work from memory... I've been planning to get working on AVRs too for years, so I just ordered an STK500 and some chips. My intention is to build some kind of a "STB-C" that would allow me to control both my Linux VDR and the stupid Nokia STB with Beolink

from start to 50s - I have no idea and I'm ashamed of it! 60s - Beomaster 900K 70s - Beogram 400x/6000 80s - Beo* Penta 90s - most of my favourites originated in the 80s - but maybe Beocenter 9500 or the entire Beosystem 6500? 00s - I don't even know what new there is?

Got any news? I have an MX6000 now, so I will probably start doing something about this later on What kind of microcontroller are you using in between? I have a number of old 80C32 boards I built years ago, but I'm not sure I want to start playing with EPROMs anymore. I'll probably get some kind of in-system programmable devkit (yes, I'm

OK, I got my new MX6000 fixed and now had to think of the connections with other equipment (after moving everything around in the apartment...). My VX5000 obviously was mostly plug'n'play and took the other SCART. Then I had to think of my STB daisy-chained with a DVD recorder, both of which I absolutely want to watch in RGB and not composite
