  • Re: Hello Everyone!

burantek: don't know about their favorite, but i could take a guess at their least favorite... This is quickly becoming one of the most entertaining threads on Beoworld!

  • Re: workbench equipment

There's no end to what you could have, but the obvious must have is a good multimeter. Preferably with a transistor hFE check range (the simple diode checks can't always tell if a transistor is good, just if it is certainly faulty). Another thing, which you unfortunately can't buy at any reasonable price, is a capacitor ESR meter - anyway

  • Re: Any views on Beovox 2700???

I can see how MoMA picked them. A box must've been groundbreaking design in 1971!

  • Re: Beomaster 7000

Well, that's what the dealer would tell you, because nowadays they only repair stuff by replacing circuit boards. Still, I'm also sure that the receiver could be fixed. The problem is finding someone who will do that for you

  • Re: Has any member ever gone back to older products?

j0hnbarker: To be fair there's very little room left for my house keys and wallet in my MGB GT when my girlfriend and I go out for a day trip, once her camera bag, huge handbag, etc. have been loaded up. Get a Cadillac! For a similar trip, I could pack the girlfriend, four friends, three crates of beer, a Beomaster 1200 along with a couple of corpses

  • Re: Cleaning Beogram 4000

Oh yes, and I have to take a little back from that "use anything" advice - it's probably good for the BG4000, but I believe some other products have some kind of a coating on the brushed aluminum, and you don't want to dissolve that. As Peter said, I believe soapy water, paper towels and some old fashioned elbow grease should do the

Jandyt: Well that's that sorted! Hope you'll all miss me next week! Hope we don't end up missing the whole forum once you upload your photoreportage of the trip (which I'd like to see, seriously)

Well, not really, except try pretty much anything that's safe to use without gloves, and try on a non-visible part first. Aluminum is pretty inert to chemicals, and I'd expect any common detergent to be fine (don't overdue it, and spray on the cloth and not directly on the object). The brushed aluminum surfaces can collect ugly dirt (grease

  • Re: I'm losing interest. Sorry...

9 LEE: One thing that has really bothered me is that we were promised little scoops and extra news, which have turned out to be total garbage in newsworthy terms. In return for this promise, we have been sensible with new product rumour releases and have tried not to ruin things for the company. I admit to feeling a little cheated, but i must stress

  • Re: What are you listening to right now - played through which system

At the moment, I'm at the summer house and I have on the radio Biber's Harmonia artificioso-ariosa (not that I'd recognize it, unfortunately, I checked the programme info...) playing through a domestic ASA 3300 integrated system from 1977 and Jamo Graphic wall speakers. Very enjoyable sound actually, I haven't wanted to bring the more
