The dealer is essentially getting you to use the Beolab 9s as if you were connecting to an iPod which is perfectly valid. However headphone amplifiers are not usually part of a TV that have much money invested in them by the manufacturer - the headphone amplifier in the BC2 for instance is really rather poor! What is the output from the RCA outputs? If it is pre-amplifier output, you need 2 x 6270856 phono male to Power Link line-in cables which are available from your dealer and the inputs on the Beolab 9s set to Line. If it is fixed line level, then you need a pre-amplifier to give you some volume control.

astrauch: It is indeed a difference if you listen to a CD with a B&O player and compare that to a normal MP3, but you don't hear a difference between MP3 (or AAC) and WAV with a digital music device (PC, iPod, Beosound 2...). It rather depends on the quality. A WAV file should sound as good as the source. An MP3 or AAC is dependent on the compression

Far better a strong negative some times and strong positive some times than just - "That's nice" ! B&O need to be different and to provoke a reaction. Not sure I would want to use a headphone amplifier to drive the BL9s - most are pretty poor afterthoughts. The Beoport will offer a solution as you will be using the volume control on the Beoport I imagine. I take it that there is no other audio out on your TV?

Agreed. Mine has a new battery set in - we used the 1000mAh ones from Maplins as the original batteries are 600mAh or similar. We were not sure that the charger would like the types available now - 2000mAh and higher - so chose the smallest value available. They work perfectly. Cost was about £10 for a packet of 12 I think and I had a lot of spare

I decided to go the E-SATA route initially but the Powermac can actually do this internally - I now have the original drive, a 500Gb second drive and the two 1Tb RAID drives all inside the box. I also have a 750Gb external drive so should have enough space for the moment. I do have one more space inside though!!

I have repainted one of mine using a matt paint - I have not used it yet but plan to put some clear coat over it to protect the finish. I used spray paint and a lot of masking! I obviously took it all apart first!
