As far as a converter goes it depends on on what year the AV9000 is from. Mine is from '98 and its a IMP version with 3.0 software. I asked the B&O shop about using a 1611 converter as I allready had one and for the IMP version you must use the 1611 if using an audio system other than the MVAP9000.
