Hi: I came into a beocord 9000 tape deck with a non-functioning motor. When you hit play, the relay will engage the head assembly into the cassette but the motor will not turn. After a few seconds the mechanism releases. I checked for bad belts but they are OK. With play depressed I manually try to rotate the motor shaft and can feel flux in the motor

Hi: I'm pondering picking up a MX5500. The unit powers up but it is unable to lock on the vertical and so it scrolls. Does anybody have experience repairing this problem? Is it an easy fix? Derek

Hi: Does anyone know where I can find replacement CDM 4/33 mechanism, perhaps even a dead one? The laser in mine works, however the spindle motor will not spin up. Can CDM 4/19 be used as a substitute? What's the difference? Thanks, Derek

Hi Frede: In North America, the suppliers want a bit more specificity. The suppliers go by the scientific name of the type of rosewood species. I generically asked for "rosewood" and they wanted more info. Derek

Hi: I'd like to make a DIN to RCA adaptor so that I can plug in an additional source to the AUX of my B&O. Does anybody know the pinouts for L,R and GND on the 5 pin DIN? Thanks, Derek

Hi Chris: What species of rosewood was used by B&O? I went to a veneer shop and they had rolls for rosewood and they asked my what type. Secondly, rosewood that they stocked were unfinished. It needs to be sanded down, stained and finished. Was this the case with the veneer that you found? Any tips for how to do this? Thanks, Derek

Graham, Martin: Thank you for your replies. I corresponded with Tim Jarman over at Beocentral; they are indeed resistor fuses. Any ideas where they can be purchased? I'm having a hard time finding that exact value. Tim suggested finding a dead pickup and salvaging the resistors from there. Does anyone have a dead CDM 4/33? Thanks, Derek
