I wondered about that, as it happens here too, and assumed it meant the iPod/iPad was being charged, perhaps? One thing that shocked me the other day, I went to turn on the BS8 and it wouldn't turn on. Nor would it charge the connected iPad. The iPad had to be charged through mains first before returning it to the BS8. Oddness.
