The cables between the units should be 7 pin DIN leads but these are normally captive so should be there. You will need 2 pin DIN to speaker wire speaker cables to attach to the Quad speakers. The best remote options would be a MCP5500 or 6500 for programming and a Beolink 1000 for everyday use. Nice system!

The usual problem is going to be wear. Obviously not the case with your new MMC2. Axel suggests his cartridges track at a slightly heavier weight - my MMC5000s track best at about 1.3g. In the first event, I would increase the weight. Have you checked that the scale on the tone arm is accurate?

Yes, mine did that. Not a huge deal - I agree sounds like something expanding. Mine was on a floor stand.

I don't blame you for the confusion. One of the problems is the actual measurement of figures. Around the end of the eighties, B&O started measuring power using different parameters. This caused the Beomaster 5500 to go from being a 55W per channel amplifier to being a 110W per channel amplifier. Clearly nonsense but of no importance as it still

Well I don't know! I remember my first purchase as a student was a Beomaster 2400, Beogram 1902 and some Beovox P30s. Needed something to get me through the first 2 years of Physiology and Biochemistry. The next three years were far more fun - on the wards practising! Best of luck at the studies.
