What about the cap inside the CPU metal housing ? Martin

Derek, The "When working ..." line suggests an intermittent failure. Are you sure you replaced ALL the electrolytic caps ? - And checked ALL the solders for cracks ? Martin

Most potentiometers can be taken apart, cleaned and put back together. It's probably oxidation on the metal track parallel to the resistive track. I doubt you will be able to find a new potentiometer so this would be the things to try. Contact cleaner won't remove anything, only losen the dirt and shift it around and in the best case it won't

Hi Steve, These are nice speakers. I love the sound of the P series but they need to be wallmounted to do their best. The DC resistance measured across each driver should be lower than the impedance but not a lot. I would expect any beep'er to beep when put across any resistance lower than apprx 10-20 Ohms. Put a 10 Ohm resistor (or a known good

Most versions of the Beovox M70 have 9 capacitors but there are some with 10. Probably following the woofer change in production starting with serial number 1442001 Replacing capacitors is an essential step in any restoration and it's pretty safe to say that by now, you will hear a clear difference when replacing the capacitors in any of the 1970's

If you can fit just a 10mm long steel pin (5mm's into each part or so), it will improve matters drastically. I doubt that epoxy alone will hold, I never managed to get it to. Martin
