Do you have a constant max VU reading during play ? Martin

Welcome to Beoworld ! The tapeheads are constantly engaged because the drivebelt is unable to transfer enough torque to move the mechanism. This is very common. Belts are available as a set with all three. If a tape is stuck in the deck don't force anything, but ask for instructions when ordering. PM me for details. Martin (I removed your duplicate

The whole mechanism may not be centered correctly and/or something with the dampener and lock mech is wrong. You will have to open the Beocord and take a look. Martin

The tweeter and midrange drivers are both dome's. The filler and woofer are cones. The same filler is used in Beovox M100 and M100-2. Martin

- The red/brown cylinderical ROEs are also electrolytics, right? Correct, and when you are done replacing leaking, partly shorted or just out of spec. caps, there won't be any of the red ones left in there. The TEST switch couples the speaker outputs in series. You will actually be able to use this for adjusting the input levels so my answer above

- Does the 3000-2 say the -2 on the front panel too? Mine says only 3000. Yes, the Beomaster 3000-2 has this in lettering on the front. - How should I use the input source volume controls on the bottom? They are here to allow you to balance the inputs volumes against eachother so that the sources are at apprx the same level. - Was the TEST-switch on

The Beogram 1001 is very wobbly. What you describe is normal. The suspension is much softer than that of the Beogram 1000. Any of the 1960's and early 1970's speakers will be fine with your Beomaster 1001. The Beovox 1001 would be obvious of course but a bit rare. Martin

Oh, I think they are of the same value but I'm not 100% sure. If everything else fails I may be able to help you find a complete and working part but let's first know if the lamp was burned. Martin
-
You can solder out the box for an easier handling but you will have to use a little "controlled force" to open it. Put an ohm-meter to the lamp first to confirm the diagnose first. Martin

You will find it on the large main board, lift away the tonecontrol board and look for a little metal box, apprx 25mm square. You can't see the light from the lamp, it's shielded to keep ambient light out or it would mess up the volume. You can see it here (main board shown without the plastic frames etc.) Martin
