The quoted sound pressure for the BS1 is 91dB. For the Beolab 4000, the sound pressure is quoted at 97dB for a pair.

The type number of the S45-2 speaker is T6312 and the stand is T6013. The later S45 is T6427 and the stand is T6017.

If it affects all the components, I would suspect the Beomaster. If the CD plays and works its way through the tracks, I would suggest it is OK. The3300 in common with much of this era of systems made by B&O suffer from deteriorating capacitors and variable resistors. These can be replaced and will return the system to as new. That is the stand for the later model - it fits the later S45. S55 and S80. It will fit the S45-2 as the bolt holes are the correct spacing but is quite a bit taller and in my view makes them look a little strange.

Unfortunately this seems a not uncommon problem and is usually due to damage to the connecting cable. A warranty issue as is a manufacturing problem.

They are not full range speakers and, as Chris says, produce hardly any sound when used alone. They do however make quite a difference when used with other speakers - they widen the sound stage quite dramatically. I used them with RL60s and actually was quite impressed!

Consider 4000s as suggested above. More bass, especially if wall mounted. I really like them - more internal volume - a thoroughly splendid small speaker.

The MX1500 is actually a rebadged Philips set. It has a module in to let it work with the Beolink 1000 but is mono and certainly not a patch on some of the other sets. Although bigger, I would look for an MX4000 or similar which is far better. All the MX sets are very cheap these days.
