  • Re: BM3000-2 Bass screen

I (or actually a friend of mine, who has dogs...) have had good results with a generic de-odour spray (try Tarjoustalo ). I wouldn't spray it directly on the electronics, and probably not on the parade surface of the wood, either. These sprays often can really neutralize the smell and not just replace it with another equally annoying one.

  • Re: another dead mx4000...

Certainly is. Shouldn't show much of anything (you're measuring it disconnected, right?). While you're there, check the small transistors that are driving the BUT12 (can't remember their numbers). In my MX6000, the BUT took a couple of them along when it died...

Further to that, I think 95% of all "leaks" nowadays are intentional. Perhaps B&O just doesn't want to market that way?

  • Beomaster 4400

After giving it about five seconds of consideration, I just buy-it-now'd me a rather blandly listed Beomaster 4400 for 90 euros. It better be as good as you've told me!

Iconic-AV: If he survives are you going to send him back wrapped up?, my guess is when they cant see his sweet little face they will start thowing him around , Our thoughts are with you martin jay I agree - smashing up a nice little tv will take deliberate bad will (or a near miss of a traffic accident in the delivery van). But once it's wrapped

I'll add one warning about the lid - if you remove it, turn it open (up) first. The torsion spring that is supposed to keep it in upright position has a lot of power, and will bang the hinge back with horrific force if you manage to detach it from the turntable chassis in closed position! (yes, once I had my brain switched off and did just this

9 LEE: Why am i telling you this? Well, these speakers were packed carefully in the OFFICIAL Bang & Olufsen transport packaging. Double walled cardboard, thick polystyrene foam, wrapping sheets etc. They were then taped up securely and sent with the couriers. What the hell they had to do to get them in the state they arrived is completely beyond

I'd say if the cartridge sounds fine to you, don't worry about it. The B&O styli are very durable, it's the stylus suspension that usually breaks in these old cartridges and then it's time to shop for a new one. They can fail from just old age, sitting on the shelf! The later MMC20 series will be plug & play just as well - these
